Chance grinned a bit and slid into the car. She always did care so much about him. "Alice... I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I really didn't think it was that bad and... I didn't want to worry you." This was the truth, after all, he hadn't really wanted any of this to happen. He didn't really think that being hit in the back of the head with a giant glass window really was a good enough explanation for anything. He definitely didn't sound very cool.
"They sent me to the outskirts again. Found a guy, thought he was drunk, turned out he wanted to rob me. I arrested him, threw him in my car he kicked out the glass hit me in the head..." Chance sighed. "Too bad someone came to bail him out. Cute little kid, high school maybe." He sighed again. He hated letting the bad guys go. Especially ones that caused him so much trouble. "I'm really sorry babe. I didn't want to worry you with any of this..."

She just sat in the car and she sighed once more. Her stomach still felt a bit upset but she had to kick that aside for now. She didn't want to have to take Chance to the hospital and end up being checked as well. She had another doctors appointment coming up soon anyway since she would be hitting the three month mark in her pregnancy in about three days. Then she noticed him get into the car and she looked at him with sad eyes "hunnie I know your heart is in the right place but...I wish you would tell me, especially when stuff like this happens, at first it might seem fine but it can get worse..." She knew he meant well, she really did.
She knew that now that she was pregnant Chance wouldn't want to worry her. But still she felt a little bad when he was keeping things like his own injuries from her. But then hearing how he got hurt her eyes widened and she gasped a bit. "Oh hunnie...you should have told me sooner...it could have been taken care of sooner..." she felt tears coming to her eyes again but she wiped her eyes quickly. Then she guessed they better get going before Chance lost to much blood. She then took her sweatshirt she had in the car then she looked to him and then handed it out him.
Weird yes but she knew if he put it behind him it might help a little bit. "Put this behind your head, it'll slow the bleeding a bit and don't worry about dirtying it, I'll just wash it later." Right now Alice couldn't care less if it got blood stained, she could get it cleaned later, but that was the last of her worries. She then got out of the parking area and then drove off to the hospital to get Chance checked out. It took about ten minutes to get there and then she parked and quickly got out then went to his side of the car "ok, lets get you in there to get checked out" she had no idea if he could still walk but she thought she would check.

He chuckled a little bit at how much she cared for him. "Baby it's not that big of a deal really..." But he did put it behind his head, even if he felt like a total dork from doing so. the bleeding had slowed quite a bit by the time they got there. He smiled as she moved to the other side of the car. He really loved her. And not just for her looks either, to him that was just a complete bonus.
"Alice...." He whispered softly as she made her way to his door. He grabbed her chin and kissed her softly. "It's going to be alright..." He smiled that soft, reassuring smile he usually did when she was upset and kissed her softly again. He slowly got out of the car, a bit wobbly, but he could stand on his own. It wasn't like he had been shot or anything. Tiny bruises, scrapes, and cuts. That was all ti was to him. Nothing to keep him away from his beloved Alice.
They made it into the hospital and a nurse walked up to them. "How can I be of assistance?" She asked softly. Chance smiled and explained the situation, and the nurse had them sit down and start filling out paper work, being that it wasn't a straight out emergency. He rubbed his temples again. The bright lights were making him feel rather dizzy as his head hurt more than normal. 'Babe....? Can you fill the rest of this out please...? I can't see straight with all these lights..." He smiled softly again and handed her the board. He had done most of the important stuff already. Name, birthdate, and other bits and pieces of information. So it seemed he didn't have memory loss, that was good at least.

She brought him into the hospital, not liking to be here since she had to come back to it in a few days. Alice felt her belly twisting which wasn't going. All this worry and stress was making her belly hurt, the baby didn't like it but there wasn't much she could do. But she brought Chance in and she was glad a nurse spotted them and she sighed with relief. She helped the nurse can him into the room and she sat down next to him, she was very glad he was finally going to get help because she was really getting worried about him, she was very surprised he could still walked and he hadn't passed out yet, not that she wanted him to.
She just sat down next to him but then looking to him she could tell he still didn't look good. She had a very worried and sad look on her face as she sat there and looked down. But then she looked back up when Chance asked her to finish the paperwork. She nodded then took the board and got started. Alice looked at it then wrote down everything she could think of, this wasn't her paperwork so of course she didn't know everything. But she could tell Chance had wrote down all the important things which was good in her case. So she kept going until she finally finished everything and handed it to the nurse.
Alice then just sat there and sighed heavily as she waited for the doctor to come in. But then she started to feel sick again and she felt her stomach churn once more and she put her hand to her mouth. "I-I'll be right b-back..." she then quickly up then ran out of the room and into the nearest bathroom and vomited once more. She then stayed in there for a minute, the stress of worry was really getting to her. She then got up and came back out then back into the room with Chance and she sat back down and gently rubbed her belly. She really didn't feel well at the moment but she stayed there for Chance.

Chance watched as she ran out. He sighed and shook his head slowly. He hated doing this to her, especially now. She had never really been one to take stress well, and he was rather surprised she hadn't made him quit his job yet. The doctor came in while she was gone and was there when she returned. chance smiled softly at her as he finished watching the doctor move his light in front of his eyes.
"Light burns mate." Chance muttered, squinting his eyes a bit.
The doctor scribbled a few things down and asked Chance some questions before smiling over at Alice. "He's going to be fine dear. Just needs a few stitches and a good nights rest. He has a concussion, and a bit of blood loss, but after a good meal and some sleep he'll be just fine. Here's a note I want you to give to your employer, Imari-san.'' He handed Chance the slip of paper and bowed a bit before walking out of the room.
Chance yawned a bit. "Alice. Thank you for bringing me in. I really do appreciate it. He said I'd be getting 5 stitches then we can go home." He rested his hand on hers and smiled once more. "See? I'm never gonna leave you." He chuckled a little and kissed her cheek.

She just sat there and noticed the doctor was in when she had come back. But she still didn't feel too well, she was a bit paler then normal and her belly was still bothering her. All of this had just gotten to her a bit too much but she couldn't help it. Alice just loved Chance so much and she didn't want anything bad to happen to him. She looked and noticed the doctor looking at his eyes and he had said to her that the lights were irritating him so seeing the doctor do that and hearing him say something it pretty much broke her heart. she felt tears swelling up in her eyes again and she looked down, a few escaping and falling down her pale cheeks.
She just kept sitting there but then she noticed the doctor come over and then look at her. Then hearing him speak she smiled weakly with the news. "Really? Oh thank god...thank you..." Alice then looked to Chance and smiled a bit once more. Then seeing him come over then speak she giggled a bit "I'm just glad your alright, now lets get you home so you can rest" she then stood up and then gently kissed Chance's lips then stood next to him to watch him and see if he could walk straight. If he needed something to lean on then he could lean on her, she wouldn't mind because she loved him and wanted to help.

Chance smiled as he made his way him, his jacket/vest thing slung over his shoulder. He had gotten off early that afternoon, having taken a long lunch break earlier and making a surprise for Alice. He grinned as he walked into their apartment, after all, she should be home by this point right? He had hoped so, or all his hard work would be for nothing. He placed his keys on the table next to the door and locked it behind him, whistling happily. Today would be the day. Today he would make her his. "Alice? You home?"

She had a small photo shoot to do today but it only took a couple hours. They were giving her more time off since they knew she was expecting. Which she thought was pretty good, although she absolutely loved her job but being pregnant she did have that much energy anymore plus going into her fourth month she did notice her nasty symptoms going away which was good. So she was glad to be home, but she knew Chance wouldn't be home for a while which she fine, she was just hoping he wasn't going to come home hurt again. But she did quickly get bored, but she thought she could get a nice dinner started to the two, or three of them since she was eating for two started.
Alice got up and looked into the fridge and remember she had a chicken she could make. So she thought she would be nice to make a nice big meal, mostly since she knew Chance always came home starving, especially if he came home late. So she took it out and turned the oven on and waited for it to warm up. Then she took out some instant mashed potatoes and put those on the stove to cook. After ten minutes she then put the chicken and put water on the make corn on the cob as well. "Perfect, and it should get done when Chance gets home" she smiled brightly and then headed back into the living room.
But thought to herself, thinking she had to do something to pass the time. Alice then thought she could use the shower, so she headed into the bathroom and turned on the water, she left quick to grab some fresh clothes which was her favorite dark purple sweat suit which she normally just wore at home to be lazy. She then went back into the bathroom and got into the shower, loving the feeling of the warm water on her body, she shut her eyes and smiled in the shower. Then she snapped out of the slight trance she got in then got to washing herself up which altogether took about ten minutes.
Then she got out, dried herself up and then got dressed. She then came out of the bathroom and went back into the kitchen and checked on the food. Until she heard the door open and close, then she heard a voice and she knew right away who it belonged to. "I'm in the kitchen hun" Alice then checked the chicken and it looked like it had to be in there for another twenty minutes then it should be done. The potatoes were almost done and the corn was in as well. So she went over to Chance and kissed him "I've got dinner going" she was sure he would like it and thought she would go all out tonight, not really sure why but she did.

He smiled and walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her cheek. "It smells wonderful. I got off early today." He grinned and made his way to the table to check the mail, then back to the kitchen to be with her. "But... When it's done, I have an idea." He smiled and walked off towards their room to change. He came out wearing a loose black t-shirt and some ripped up old blue jeans.
He watched her scurry about the kitchen as dinner finished up. He then grabbed a few metal trays he had kept handy from when they used to bring their dinner up to the roof. He carefully placed the dishes of food on the trays. He grinned at her. "How about we eat on the roof tonight? Just like old times, its the perfect temperature outside right now, and the sun should be setting soon." He held the tray and opened the door for her, bowing his head a bit. "After you Mi'lady."
He lead her up to the roof where he had a table set up, a few candles, glasses for wine, and a wine bucket. Obviously he had been setting this up while she was cooking downstairs. The tablecloth fluttered a bit in the wind, the fine silver glinting in the sunlight. He kissed her cheek and set the tray of food in the center of the table. No bugs, a soft breeze, sunset behind them. Everything was perfect.

She was just trying trying to finish everything up so that way they could eat soon. She was hungry and she was sure Chance had to be as well. Alice mixed the potatoes to make sure they were good and then shut them off, she also checked the corn and that was fine as well. The last thing to check was the chicken, but then she felt Chance grab her then kiss her and she giggled a bit then smiled. But then hearing him speak she blinked then turned to him "an idea huh? And what is this idea of yours?" but then she turned and quickly grabbed the chicken and took it out so it wouldn't burn on her, she wanted it to be good and it wouldn't be if it was burnt.
Then she noticed him grabbing up all the food and she blinked a couple times. Then hearing him speak her face lit up and she smiled brightly "oh I'de love that" Alice then grabbed the butter, barbecue sauce, and ketchup out of the fridge. Then she saw Chance had all the food so she headed over to the door and she giggled more then bowed like she was curtsying even though she had no dress on "why thank you kind sir" so she went out then headed up to the roof, good thing their building had a roof that could be used for what they were doing. She remembered they used to go up there all the time when they first started dating.
It was already where he would take her on dates and everything until they finally moved in together. Then when she got up there, Alice noticed how nice everything looked and it made her heart skip a beat. She loved it when Chance became romantic, she then put the stuff on the table then turned to him and smiled lovingly "oh sweetheart...this looks wonderful" she couldn't believe it, it was like something out of a fairy tale, too bad she didn't look at a princess at the moment. But she didn't care, she then gently but sweetly kissed him on the lips and then looked back to the table, she couldn't wait to sit down and eat.

Chance pulled her seat out for her and bowed a bit as she sat down. He kissed her back and moved to his side of the table, server her meal for her and then serving himself. He was being quite the gentleman tonight. He had forgotten how much he had missed it. He dipped his head a bit and poured a bit of the white wine for them. He slowly began to eat his meal, making pleasant conversation as they ate, soft music coming from somewhere in the building. It made him laugh a bit.
After dinner was finished he cleared away their dishes, putting them on the tray and moving them aside. He smiled at her and told her to wait on the room while he put the food away and went to grab dessert. He brought the left overs and the dishes down to their apartment and put them in their respective places. He then stopped and grabbed the dish of cream puffs from the freezer. He also grabbed a tiny box from the pocket of his jacket. He sighed. He was nervous, very nervous, but made his way back up to the roof. He set the bowl down between them and smiled. "Dessert is served." He bowed again and sat down.

Alice looked and saw that Chance pulled out her chair and she sat down. Then she noticed he got her food together, wine, everything. She couldn't remember when was the last time he acted like this but she loved it. She then started eating, being glad she could now. She was always hungry now that she was pregnant but she knew that was going to happen, in fact she thought she was beginning to get a baby bump because it seemed like she was gaining weight around her belly which she knew was going to start happening. She couldn't wait until it was around the time for the baby to start kicking, she was getting really excited.
Then once she finished she sighed with content and rubbed her belly softly. She was beginning to get full but she still had a little room since she guessed Chance had some type of desert up his sleeve. Alice then noticed him get up and bring everything back downstairs and she had a huge smile on her face, kind of in a bit of a daze "oh Chance I love you so much..." she said to herself in a dreamy tone. But she quickly snapped herself out of it thinking she would get mushy a little later possibly since Chance was being quite the sweetheart tonight which she loved but she wondered if he was planning something else.
But then when he came back she looked and noticed he had something else. In which she was right, it was desert and she smiled more. Alice saw him put it down and then noticed it was cream puffs. She then smiled brightly then took one "your being so sweet tonight..you trying to butter me up for something?" She then laughed a bit then dug right into her cream puff, wiping her face quickly because she knew they were messy. It didn't take her long to finish her cream puff then she had one more and that was when she called it quits, she was full but comfortable as she sighed dreamily and leaned back in her chair with a smile.

He smiled a bit and leaned across the table, licking a bit of the left over cream from her face. He sat back down and crossed his fingers. ''Oh perhaps I just want something from you. A new car maybe." He chuckled softly. "A new gun?" He grinned a bit and sat back in his chair. So she thought he wanted something from her? ''A trip to the Caribbean?" All of those things sounded nice, but he was bluffing.
The sun was set and the candles lit up the area around them. He looked at the bottle of wine and grinned. "Non alcoholic see?" He was good. He was very good. Subject changes. He loved changing the subject. "How's work going?" See that? Another subject change. He stood and walked towards the edge of the roof, setting up a comfortable blanket and some soft pillows. He flopped down and patted the spot next to him.

She was just having a wonderful time. But sometimes he would do this if he wanted something. Before she had gotten pregnant it was normally to get her going for sex, but now since she couldn't really do it now. Which was fine but then she looked over to him and then she laughed at what he was saying "oh yes dear of course, I'll get you all that tomorrow first thing in the morning" she then couldn't help but start laughing. She knew he was joking but she thought she would joke right back at him which was always fun but even though she was a model she did save her money, in fact she was saving to buy a house for them.
She knew that with a baby on the way an apartment would just be too small. They only have one bedroom in this apartment that her and Chance shared and she knew a baby crib wouldn't fit into so they needed something bigger. She went to the bank after work to put in the check she received today for her shoot and she hasn't been cashing any and spending them. So when she checked today they said she had saved up about one hundred and fifty thousand dollars which she knew she about enough but one day she was just going to surprise Chance, how she wasn't sure yet but she would think of something.
She then took another sip of her wine and then looked to Chance and giggled a bit. "That's good, because I don't want to have anything that'll harm the baby" Alice then remembered in a couple days she had a doctors appointment but she didn't mind too much, she was actually kind of looking forward to it. Then hearing him speak she giggled "oh it's fine, I don't too much anymore because my manager is paranoid since I'm pregnant that if I overdo it I'll faint or something." But then she noticed him spread out a blanket then she smiled warmly then went over and sat next to him, snuggling into his side.

A soft, happy sigh left his lips as she lay next to him and snuggled into his side. She was warm. He enjoyed her warmth a lot. A small grin creeped onto his lips and he kissed her forehead. "Alice." He whispered softly. He loved her in so many ways, but he had no idea how to make his proposal to her. He didn't even know if she would say yes....
"You're the best woman that any man could ask for. Hell, most men wish they had you. And yet, despite your fame in the modeling world, you've stayed with a simple man like me. One that worries you day in and day out. All this time I've wondered what made me so lucky. To be the one you've wanted. And now. To be the one who's fathering your child."
He smiled again and looked over at her, lifted her chin and looked directly into her eyes. "You're so beautiful, and the woman of my dreams.... Alice.... Please....'' He paused for a moment and grabbed the box out of his pocket. "Will you marry me?''
