being an orphan means that streetsmarts have to be a part of your life. nai's used this for thievery in more ways than one, stealing food or pickpocketing the rich in crowded areas. in fact, he still steals, even in his adulthood. it's mostly because the male's a little poorer than the average japanese, and he can barely even pay for rent. sucks, huh?

nai isn't just an artist by title. he's artistic, of course, and if you give him a paintbrush, he can do whatever with it in order to create elaborate images. normally, though, nai burns whatever he paints - because his blatant dislike for the world has made him not want to share whatever he's made with it. it's strange, yes, but it's him.

with laziness comes nai's ability to daydream at the worst times. he could look like he's listening to you, nodding his head and 'mhmm'ing, and saying 'that's not fair!' when it is, but in truth he's thinking about something else in his head, like kittens or.. sunshine. nai isn't a very good partner for conversations, really.

nai has this knack for eating the weirdest things at the weirdest times. he could be eating nothing but candy for a week because he can't afford anything else, or not eating at all because he didn't like the feel of food in his mouth. the thing is, nai is of alright physical shape, it's just that sometimes he can go wicked thin. it's mostly because he eats candy and drinks soda, and nothing else, when he's inspired.

nai can be mean, sometimes, but that's mostly because sometimes he can't control his temper and says whatever's on his mind. he's not afraid to be mean, though. he can do it if you piss him off enough; and nai's even not afraid of getting into fist fights, either. he can pack a punch, despite his supposed laziness.

even though he puts up this lazy, almost-pompous persona, in truth, nai is a little kid at heart. he likes holding hands with people for stupid reasons, likes giving those he cares for little reminders he loves them; like giving them toy soldiers with messages taped to their parachutes. nai is a strange character, admittedly, but that's alright.
