The idea of spending a day in the park was actually a nice one. Everyone needed a change in pace sometimes, and this was just one of those days. A change. Something he had looked forward to in his whole career. Being the best cop in town had its perks sometimes, but scouting and patrolling tiny, quiet areas was not one of them. Was there gonna be a drug bust today? Or was he seriously just sent there because he had been complaining about the outskirts so much lately? He sighed and shook his head. It would be nice to get some time off for once. But at least he wasn't sitting in the office filing paper work today.
The red head walked through the park, just eying things carefully like he always did. Looking for any suspicious activity. But no. Nothing. He sighed again. Alright, so this was a little more than boring. It was still only about lunch time, and the business people were walking through the park to get from one end of the town to the other in a faster more conventional way. There was nothing to it. The kids on the playground, with their day care people or their parents. He stopped and watched for a moment, smiling a bit. He couldn't wait to be a parent. But it would still be another 6 months at least.
He was grinning as he made his way a little farther down, where music began to flood his ears. It was a soft tone at first, being somewhat far away, but the voice was rather beautiful. Following that sound he made his way towards where a few people were just sitting on a rock, jamming out, playing small tunes on guitar or violin. But that voice he had heard before wasn't among them. He walked on, continuing his search. Who had she been? And why could he not find her now?

A pink haired woman sat on the park bench beneath a large tree that hung like a willow. There were others who surrounded her just listening to her sing. Today, Desire didn't have her electric guitar with her so instead she brought her acoustic with her. The teen didn't really know what chord to play, but she played a random note and started sing. The song was called Everytime by Britney Spears; today was request day and a teen that was probably a year or two younger than her looked like she was on the verge of tears. There was something soothing about this song that always got to her, but at the moment she even wanted to cry, but she kept going.
"Everytime I try to fly I fall without my wings I feel so small I guess I need you baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, it's haunting me I guess I need you baby."
Playing the last few notes, Desire felt the girl hugging her from the side as she let out a small laugh. With a small kiss of the forehead that she left on her, she could already tell that the other was feeling better already. Noticing a six year old in the audience, she pointed at her. "Yes sweetie?" Her voice was soft as she emitted a bright smile in her direction.
"Can you sing Miley Cyrus too?" Sounding way too excited that even her parents let out a small laugh.
"Of course, what song?" Asking her gently as she played a few random chords giving a small melody for the people that she was entertaining. She noticed the child thinking hard about it and it only put a smile on her face even more. Once the girl opened her mouth, she waited to see what song she would say.
"Party in the USA!"
"Good song! One of my favorites." Already playing the cords once more as she thought about how to play it. Within seconds she found it and started playing once more. Children were drawn closer to her as they jumped around dancing to song which made her laugh a little.

He heard it again. That voice. He made his way to where the girl was with the small audience. Her voice amazed him, drew him in like a siren on a rock. He shook his head. He was comparing her to too many things at this point. Why was she in the park anyways? Just enjoying some time off he supposed. He wished he would get some time off, but that didn't seem to be happening any time soon. He listened to her play a few songs and smiled. He knew he should be patrolling the area, but it was the park. Nothing bad ever happened here.
He applauded her, the wind kicking up a little. He knew he should have brought a hair tie or a hat with him today. He hated how messy his hair was, he really needed to get it cut again. He shook his head. Again he was getting off topic. That seemed to happen a lot more lately. He stood back against a tree as the rest of the group seemed to be clearing out. Had it really been as long as the daylight suggested? He sighed. It seemed it had. Lunch hour was over and it was now reaching early afternoon. "You're pretty good." He mentioned from his spot by the tree.
((sorry its so short.... muse is still sleeping))

The crowd has finally dispersed as the young female continued to play her acoustic, strumming random chords, but still letting the memory of the first song run through her. "Everytime I try to fly, without my wings I feel so small, I guess I need you baby." She sang the one line once again, murmuring the last few words to herself feeling a small frown forming on her lips. Looking off into the distance, Desire sat indian style on the park bench just feeling herself zoning off into her own little world, but a voice from behind intruded her thoughts.
Turning her head slowly, another stood by the tree. Had he been standing there the whole time? She didn't know, but he didn't see that suspicious, so there was probably no reason for her to get defensive...probably. Smiling at his comment, the pink haired woman gently placed her guitar in the case. "Thanks." Smiling slightly, "I come here whenever the parlor is slow." Smoothly saying not really sure why she was telling him all of this. Mentally shaking her head, jade eyes looked up at the man, studying him closely as if he was an open book. Not getting any strange vibes from the other the teen held out her hand to him. "I'm Desire Lafayette, but around the park and club I go by DoReMi." Laughing to herself just hearing her say the silly little nickname.

He smiled a bit. "Nice to meet you Desire, if you don't mind me calling you that...." He shook his head and reached his hand out to her, shaking it lightly. "I'm Chance Imari. Local cop. Don't worry you're not in trouble.'' He grinned again. "I don't often get sent to the park, but it seems most of my coworkers love your singing as well. Thought I'd check it out."
He wondered what she thought to something like that being said to her. Being so utterly complimented. He wondered if she was the modest type of person, or the type of person that had heard it so much she was sick of it.
Emerald eyes looked her over, before glancing down at his watch. "Ya know... It's about time for my lunch break. If you've been out here long working off all that energy singing, want a sandwich or somethin? Not like a date or nothin, but.... My payment for enjoying your music for so long." He shrugged. He was loyal to Alice, but treating a young teenaged girl to lunch after listening to her play music in a park for an hour, he felt like it was more of an act of gratitude than like a date.

She was glad to hear that others knew about her and that she was becoming highly recommended. It was a good feeling inside and she hoped that more and more people would come to the park or nightclub just to hear her voice. Desire already had a number of guys trying to hit on her for her raw appearances, so it was great to see that there were actually decent people in the world. Gently putting the guitar back in the case, she looked up at the man.
"A cop, huh? I see a lot of your buddies hanging around here after getting a bit to eat," Jade eyes looked up at Chance, "didn't think they were actually listening though." She laughed lightly as she sat back on the bench just looking up at him. Rolling up her sleeve, a swallow tattoo on her arm that was neatly done. Although she was a tattoo artist, Desire only had about three on her. She wasn't really crazy about having to many on herself; it just didn't really feel right.
When she heard him as her to go to lunch with him, the girl slightly laughed at his struggle of words. Stand up as she heard him rambling, still searching for the right way to put his words. A pale hand covered his mouth as she just laughed at him. "I get it officer." Jade eyes looked at his as she grabbed her guitar off the bench, "No need to explain." She spoke calmly as she looked over him quickly, "If I'm not mistaken, you have a loving girlfriend, fiancé, or wife waiting for you at home and your the utmost loyal man and no other woman will do." Smirking playfully, "Am I wrong?"
Nodding her head to the side she looked up at him since he was slightly taller than herself, "Where to, officer?" Wondering where exactly were they going to have lunch. She wasn't a woman of expensive taste just a simple burger was more of her taste than anything.
