Kim Weatherly was dropped off at school by her mom. Trying to pull her skirt down she knew she was receiving a scrutinizing look from her mom. She continually told her it wouldn't go any shorter, but she refused to deter from her efforts. Students were making their way up the steps and her mom unbuckled her. It was hard to fight her, let alone get in a word of complaint, because being late was a bad thing for her. Pushing the door open she slung her strap of her new backpack over her shoulder and shut the door behind her. Wearing the school uniform she averted her emerald green eyes from the girls and boys. Clutching her necklace she sighed and strode up the steps, her skirt blowing in the wind.
She had known she was a lesbian for a long time. While most girls her age fixated on asking guys to the dance, she was fighting the urge to talk to a girl. Her friends often questioned why she didn't put more effort into talking to guys, when the truth came out she lost most of her friends. It was all about how one was raised...and clearly being into girls made her an outcast. Following a group of students into the building she looked for her locker. "There are so many...I-I can do this," she stole nerves while holding onto her necklace.

She was glad she had graduated only last year but she still missed her school days. It seemed like only yestarday she was roaming these halls as a student but now she was roaming them as a visitor. Rin sighed a bit, her Border Collie Oreo with her, since she was close with the principal and he also came to their ranch for milk and eggs, he loved Oreo and never minded if she brought him with her. "Gee Oreo...I really miss being here...working full time is great but get boring..." the dog just looked at her, tilting his head to the side and she giggled then patted his head then kept going through the halls.
Some students looked at her and blinked, others arched eyesbrow but probably mostly aimed at the dog. She didn't care, she stood out and Oreo was well trained so he never attacked people, he never did anything without her permission since he was trained very well. Rin kept walking through the walls until she got to the main entrance area once more, tempting to head up and check in on some old teachers like what she came for. But then she noticed a girl come up, she must have been late from school and she just looked at her with her blue eyes. The dog watched closely but made no moves to get excited or anything which was good.
Rin just watched the girl carefully, chewing on her toothpick she always carried in her mouth. "She must be coming in late" she said to herself, she had done that a few times when she was in school. Mainly on Monday's from waking up late rom being tired when working a whole day that Sunday. But then seeing the girl come in she looked nervous, she then got closer and cleared her throat. "Umm..you alright? You look nervous about something, everything ok?" She was always quite curious but she couldn't help it, but if she girl didn't want to talk to her it was fine but she thought she'd be nice and ask.

The lockers were all aligned neatly against each other and the students stood there spinning the dials of their locks. Kim thought about which was hers and whether or not she could get what she needed before class begun. To be late, ooohh, she fretted, that would be the most awful thing to happen to her. Suddenly a girl appeared; with her was a dog who seemed to be well trained...and in a school building. Kim blinked her eyes nervously and when the girl spoke she adjusted her strap of her pack and decided how to answer. If she was wasn't alright would she seem like a fool? And if everything was alright would she simply walk away and think other wise? I need to stop letting my mind wonder, she thought.
"Oh of course," she smiled weakly, "everything is...not ok," she felt her resolve fade and finally let her eyes meet the girl. "I'm not exactly sure where my locker is, or for that matter which part of the building it may be. I feel so foolish standing here...and...I'm sure you have somewhere to be rather then listen to me." Kim raised a hand to her lips and chewed on her nails. It was a habit of hers she swore to cut back on for the new school year, but, doing so was just becoming a hassle and a nuisance, rather then a committment.
People were passing by and she knew guys were looking at her. If these skirts get any shorter I'll die, she swallowed. Regulation and school code were often controlling, so much so, she couldn't really say anything at a school meeting. The school board was run by guys, only one girl stood up for the girls, but it often got over ruled. Luckily the bell hadn't rang yet, which brought some relief in her green eyes. This girl on the other hand she had never seen before, but, she did look nice, though looks can be deceiving, oh shut up wondering mind.

Rin just stood there looking at the girl, watching her movements. She could tell from those movements all too well that she must be a new student. She knew the feeling, a new school is tough but everyone gets through it. Oreo could sense the other girl's nerves and whimpered a bit, she gently tugged his leash and ran her hand through his thick fur. "Hush Oreo, be good" she then looked to the girl who was a bit nervous about the good. "Don't worry about him he's a good dog, he's been trained well" she smiled at the girl trying to let her know that she wasn't the type to really be mean so she wasn't going to do anything bad.
But then hearing the girl say everything wasn't ok, a frown quickly came across her face. Then hearing why Rin smiled a bit "well I can probably help you, I graduated from this school last year, I just came for a visit today and I know this school inside and out so I can help." She had a friendly tone to her voice as she stood there but then she noticed the girl biting her nails, horrible habit and she used to do it. But then she remembered something "idiot!" she thought to yourself "curse my horrible manners, I'm Rin" she actually blushed slightly, not sure why it was just a weird reaction of hers.
But then she noticed the guys beginning to show up and she sighed a bit to herself. She noticed a couple of them staring at her and she glared a bit. She wasn't into men, she never really was, she was lesbian and if men didn't like it well then too bad. Rin then looked and saw the girl nervous about the boys, was it that she was gay too? Or maybe just nerves, she really had no idea. But she had better things to do, she was wearing a gray T-shirt and jeans anyway so she had a bit of a guy look with her clothing but she didn't care as she looked back to the girl wondering if the other girl would take her up on the offer to help.

Kim was relieved to hear the dog was well trained. He looked nice, and to think if anyting happened like his leash slipping through her fingers...then there would be panic and hysteria. Ok maybe not so much hysteria, but, definately panic as everyone wouldn't know what to think with the dog about. "I'm glad to hear it," Kim finally said, "I always thought about a pet...but just never had the time I suppose." Then again her mom didn't really like pets, mainly because her childhood friend Mr. Snowflakes died when her mom, her grandma left the door open. It was the same grandma who gave her the necklace, so, she really couldn't be mad at her forever. Looking at the girl she could see her calmness and the way she handled being in the halls, it sort of was different, but in a good way.
Hearing her say she had graduated made her lower her hand slightly. "Wow, I haven't seen many graduates return to where they came from. Usually they try to distance themself from here, but, its great you want to be here and all." Kim watched her blush and giggled slightly. Oh that's right, she found herself thinking, I haven't properly introduced myself. "My name is Kim...nice to meet you."
The skirt was just one problem she had with the school, the other being the uniform they had to wear at P.E. The offer of help was great, and seeing how it was a girl made her slightly more comfortable to say the least. "I'd really appreciate your help. Anything you can offer would be nice." Pulling at her skirt absently she decided to place her back against the locker so she could let a group of jocks pass by. They eyed her and she felt like glaring, but, it was sort of hard to really do so when she was up against a locker feeling so...eyed.

Everyone always seemed to feel better when they knew Oreo was well trained. He wasn't one of those breeds with a bad reputation. He was a pure bred Border Collie, not a Pitbull or something. But she kind of got used to it. Then hearing the girl speak she blinked "well it takes some work, I'm used to it because my parents own a ranch outside the city so we have quite a few animals." She blushed again and gently rubbed the back of her head, not really sure why she was getting nervous herself, maybe because she thought the girl she was talking to was really cute and she seemed to blush around girls she thought she cute.
Even though most of the time it gave it away but she just really couldn't help it. Then hearing about how it was kind of shocking that she came back after graduating she giggled a bit "yes it's a little weird, but I never minded school too much and I kind of miss it so today I decided to pay a visit to staff and some students here that I know. " Then hearing the girls name she smiled brightly then nodded and Oreo wagged his tail a bit as she looked around guessed they should start looking for Kim's locker. She knew they could head into the office for that information so that was the first place they were going to go.
Then wearing she would take her help made Rin smiled more. But then she noticed her tug at her skirt and pull it down as the boys went by. She rolled her eyes then sighed, she never loved wearing the skirt either since she didn't like the guys looking at her. She then gently took Kim's hand then walked "come on, lets get away from here, I hate having guys staring at me since I'm not attracted to them." She got Kim away from the guys then headed over towards the office so that way they could get some info before classes were to start because once that happens she would have to leave.

Kim wanted to tilt her head as Rin blushed. For some reason, she found herself thinking, she has a cute blush. I shouldn't be thinking that, she thought, I just met her, I can't judge her blush. Listening attentively about her living on a farm she smiled. "Wow, you live on a farm? I bet everyday is an adventure out there huh? I mean, you must have fun tending to animals and all." The one time she went to a farm she fell in the mud when trying to get on a horse. The horse was rather untamed, though, she felt the ranch hand didn't tell her just so she'd fall on her butt. Since then, well, traveling to the farm wasn't on her to do list.
"You must've loved it here," she grinned, "and I guess you were probably popular and all right? I mean to survive here and hold your head up after coming back, you surely had some mean survival skills huh?" She didn't really mean the mean as in the attitude, but, having the guts to survive whatever was thrown her way. I need to learn how to elaborate, she thought. Does she mind the fact that I'm running my mouth off like a run away locomotive? Her dog Oreo doesn't mind, he is just sitting there taking in all that her master says and does.
Feeling Rin's hand in hers she felt a mad blush play along her face. The urge to chew her nails was ever present, but, she instead chose to run her hand through her pink hair. The office was approaching fast and she barely took in the words; as her thoughts were on their hands fitted so close together. "Y-Your not attracted to guys? I know what you mean, I-I sort of, well not sort of, but, I don't really find myself attracted to them either." Blushing as she confided this she looked at the office door, finding it hard to look at Rin right then.

She looked over to Kim when she spoke about the farm and she giggled. It was something people had to be born into or introduced to it at a young age into order to get used to and grow to like it. Her parents had the farm before she was born so she was born into farm life and automatically grew to love it. In fact she wanted to go to college one day and doing something with horses since they were her favorite animal. "Oh I love it, I get up early everyday to feed the animal and take them out or in depending on the weather but it's fun" she knew alot of people liked to come by the farm to see the animals, especially the horses.
People would come by all the time which was nice but when the same people came by it got annoying after a while. Then hearing how Kim asked if she liked it here she smirked a bit then nodded. "Yep, I was never the type to mess with and most of the guys here knew I was lesbian so they never messed with me much which was really nice." Rin had no problem letting others know she was gay, she loved preaching about it even though that's how you knew who the homophobics were which drove her nuts and got her into some fights but not too often. But still she was well known back when she was in school.
But when she finally got after from the guys she was very glad as they got to the office. But then Rin looked over to Kim and noticed she was blushing but then she looked down seeing her holding her hand and she blushed deeply then quickly let go. "S-sorry..." Oreo just blinked wondering what had just happened but he got a little antsy and whimpered again and she pet him to calm him down. Then hearing the other girl speak Rin quickly looked up "o-oh..no I'm not attracted to men at all, never really was" she was still a little shaky with what just happened but she tried to snap herself out of it.

"You get up early?" Kim had the hardest time rolling out of bed in the morning. Where was she that early? Still snug under her sheets dreaming of stuff she normally didn't talk aloud about. The diary in her pack usually spoke of dreams and school, though not many people got a peek inside. "I can't imagine waking up like that, my mom has to drag me out of bed half the time just to get breakfast down my throat." Farm work sounded like a huge responsibility, but, she also heard it raised character. Having survived this school, she imagined that toughness did not originate in these hallways.
"I wish that were the case for me," Kim sighed, "it seems like everyday another guy is looking my way...or trying to get a peek under my skirt. You would think that as a lesbian we are cut off from the pervs, but, there aren't many codes in the school that protect us." Kim was glad that Rin wasn't picked on. She was a nice girl, from just meeting her, she observed as she kept looking down at their joined hands. It wasn't often this happened, in fact, she couldn't really remember a time in her life when a girl would hold her hand.
Feeling Rin let go she had a slight disappointment hover in her pupils; though, it wasn't long because she didn't want to draw attention to the situation. "T-That's good...neither was I...at all. So, um, guess we should go in...and all." Kim leaned in and gently eased the door open. The hustle and bustle inside the office was like a bunch of lemmings filing and readying to jump off a cliff with umbrellas. It was kinda a scary scene, and so, looking over at Rin she sort of waited for her to make the first move inside. It wasn't everyday she came here, so, it was a street panic mayhem to students like her...or people in new york city trying to catch a cab.

She just kept looking down the hallways and she saw no other guys around which was good. Then she looked over to Kim again the laughed a bit "it's not that bad, I'm actually pretty used to it since I've been getting up early since I was little." But she liked to party as well so even though sometimes she would be up late and never go to bed until late at night or pull an all nighter she was normally pretty good. "I even go to parties and I still don't have much of a problem with getting up which is weird" Rin rubbed the back of her head a bit then giggled as she then put Oreo into a sit stay and then gently put his leash down.
She was glad he was good with staying and didn't go after anything even though he was a herding dog. Hearing Kim speak again she smiled a bit "that was because I stood up for myself and most guys here fin me hot headed so most of them here don't like me so I guess that's a good thing." Rin was glad most of the guy around didn't like her, except for the new guys roaming around that right now knew nothing but they would learn everything soon enough like everyone else does at some point from being in this school. But she then decided it was time to head into the office.
Hearing the other girl say something about it she nodded. Still a bit shaken with what had just happened. But she didn't know what else to do and they had to get away from the guys floating around. "Stay Oreo, we'll be right back" the dog just stayed there as Rin walked into the office and got greeted by a few people and she smiled then went up to the woman behind the desk there. "Hello Kimiko-sensei, my friend here needs some help finding her locker" the woman smiled then nodded as she looked over to Kim. "Oh I'de be happy to help, what's your name dear?" of course the question being aimed at Kim and Rin just waited.

Kim smiled and could understand how Rin could get up so early. There was a routine to getting up early, and once done enough, the body got used to it. She remembered her mom saying she was a night baby, which meant she usually woke up during hte night. The mornings were her quiet time; even now, she found herself content to sleep away what dwindling morning hours there were till being dragged awake. She knew her mom had it in her best interest to get her up, as she had been doing for so many years, but, being awakened by her own body would be just as fine. Then as Rin spoke of parties she felt herself shy away into her own mind. She had never been to a party, even when the school had dances she would rather busy herself with an imaginable problem.
People often found her insecure, and if they said it out loud rather then with their eyes, they'd nail it. "W-What kind of parties do you go to?" Kim didn't mean to intrude if this was a personal life she wouldn't want told, and she apologized with her eyes. The night life was often sparkling with mystery and booming music shaking hips to. Her mother often got onto her about getting out and partying it up with friends, but, she didn't really have many...or a girlfriend seeing how she couldn't put herself out there. The guys talked and boasted of parties and perhaps that was what kept her away, that, or she just wanted to follow her curfew.
Following Rin into the office she smiled politely at the woman behind the desk. Several kids sat in the chairs to the right swinging their legs about as they waited for the principal. Hearing the question aimed at her she swallowed nervously and felt her hand go to her necklace. "My name is Kim Weatherly," she said fighting down the urge to turn her head or go inside her head. Just having Rin nearby helped steady her, that, and it kept her from bolting out the door with a sorry aimed over her shoulder. The fact that Rin called her a friend caused a small blush to appear. I can't blush in front of the woman behind the desk, she fretted. Calming the blush down she clutched her necklace till her knuckles were close to white.

Rin just stood there waiting for everything to get done and she could help get Kim to her locker. Then having her ask what type of parties she went to she smiled a bit "mainly raves, in fact we hold raves in the corn field near my house all the time." It was her parents property and they never cared, plus they lived pretty far away from people and didn't really had neighbors so she would have parties out there all the time and the animals never really cared since half the time they were inside. "You should come to the next one I have" she loved having alot o people come, half the time most of the school came.
Then she looked to Kimiko-sensei as she went through all the students with hearing Kim's name. Rin just stood there looking at the watch she was wearing knowing there was another twenty minutes before the bell was going to ring. "Alright dear your locker is 249 and here's your combination" she smiled brightly "thanks Kimiko-sensei!" the woman behind the desk nodded as she waited for Kim to take it. She knew where locker two forty nine was, it was a few lockers down from her one one which was two forty two. So she knew what area it was in so they could go quick.
She then left the office and Oreo stood up and started wagging his tail and she giggled. Rin then pet him gently and he calmed right down and then she looked back to Kim once more. "I know where your locker is, it's not too far away from where my old locker was" she then took a hold of the dog's leash then headed off so she could show Kim where her locker was and that would be out of the way. She liked Kim and she would love to try getting to know her, so she got an idea "hey Kim, you doing anything after school today?" She thought she would ask because she could stop by again after school to get her and go do something.

Kim didn't know why, but, she was jealous of Rin and the parties she attended. She wished she could fight past her insecurity, but, some habits were hard to tame. Hearing the invitation she fought past the urge to faint and tried to sum up words of yes I'd love to, or, yeah that'd be great. All she could manage was a simple, "great...I'd love to," and after that she sort of kept quiet. No one had ever invited her to a party, ever since they knew where she leaned and most guys still tried to think of her differently. A party with Rin seemed like a relaxing day at the spa, and with it on a farm she was sure she could spend more time with her.
Hearing where her locker was she politely took the locker number and followed Rin out the door. The bell hadn't rang yet, which was lucky for her. Still, when that bell rang...it would mean Rin would have to leave. A part of her didn't want her to go, another part, the mature part told her she would have to go, being a visitor and all. Lost in her thoughts she followed Rin and Oreo down rows of lockers. Each one was leading to hers, and just like the opening credits of a movie, there was anticipation surging within. Smiling as Rin mentioned her old locker she tried to picture Rin in what she wore. That is not what I should be thinking about, she thought, I just met her. Stopping near the locker she froze as she listened to Rin's question. "Um...well that is to say...no I got nothing, why?" Her heartbeat increased and her hand holding the paper shook a little.

Rin just kept going through the halls to get Kim to her locker and kept Oreo close to her side like he was suppose to. He knew better then to walk in front of her because he would get a tug if he did so he knew better. But then looking to Kim when she decided to take the offer to go to her next party. She smiled brightly and giggled a bit as wel "great! You'll love it their always amazing! Although I should warn you...there will be some alcohol and some people love to bring...other things as well but stick around me and you'll be fine." She then stopped by the locker and she then went down a bit and looked at her old locker and ran her hand down it "good times..."
She had alot of good times with the school and she spent some time with by her locker. Rin then let Kim get to her locker before classes started and she looked to her watch and knew that the be would ring in about ten minutes. Oreo sat there quietly but he started to pant a bit with a the walking around and she guessed he needed water. But then hearing Kim say she had nothing to do after school she smiled. "Want to hang with me after school? You could come to my farm and check it out and there's a swimable pond behind my house." She loved bringing friends to her house, there was always plenty to do.
She thought it would be fun as she just had nothing to do wishing Kim didn't have school today. They could have the whole day to themselves but sadly she had to wait until three which was fine, she could ride Raine on the horse trails or something. "I'll come get you when school is over, I'll just borrow my mom's car and I can bring you to your house to change out of your uniform." Rin then heard the bell go off which meant she had to get ready to go even though she kind of didn't want to go home but with classes going on what was she to do here? So she guessed she would come back later then go from there.

Kim raised an eyebrow as Rin mentioned other things, and the pause alone caused her curiosity to be piqued. "What do you mean...other things?" She found herself asking as she spun the dial on her locker and tried to memorize it. What other things were brought to a party besides the occassional alcohol. Though on that subject...she had never drank before. When her mom threw parties, the get together with friends, the only thing she was allowed to drink was soda. Alcohol by reputation caused some to lose their heads...often saying things that were personal and couldn't be taken back. Though, she thought after, alcohol also livened up the party, sorted the stiffs from the over the tops.
"Yeah that sounds fun. It sure would beat my usual routine, you know, studying in your room and trying to beat the heat wave." Spinning her lock again she heard a positive chime, if that was what it sounded like, and she opened up her locker. There wasn't much in there yet, just some books for classes. Taking out one book in particular she shut her locker. The sound of several other locker doors closing seemed like a wave coming one after the other. Swimming sure sounded tempting, and, with it being just them...control yourself, she thought, this is nooo time to blush.
"You sure you have to go?" Kim found herself saying. "Oh sorry, just sort of slipped out. Your a visitor...and I guess they sort of have rules against you sitting in on class right?" Kim placed her back to her locker and hugged her bug close to her chest. If she had to go, there was nothing she could do to stop her. After all, 3 wasn't that far away. Plus, it was said that the more you put into class, the more likely time itself wouldn't mean a thing. Just have to remain calm, she thought, that...and patience leads to virture of good things.
